News: Perda Launches Affordable Housing Scheme In Taman Sungai Bakap Perdana

The Penang Regional Development Authority (Perda) has recently launched an affordable housing scheme in Taman Sungai Bakap Perdana. This project, located in Sungai Bakap in southern Seberang Prai, will be developed in three phases.

Phase 1 is scheduled to be completed by December and will comprise of 112 terrace houses, 72 double-storey terrace cluster and five double-storey shop lots. Phases 2 and 3 will commence in 2020 and 2021 respectively and will consist of 105 double-storey terrace houses, reported The Star.

Freehold terrace units, whose prices start from RM341,250, sit on an area of 1,440 sq ft and built-ups of 1,800 sq ft. These units will come with three bathrooms and four bedrooms.

The low-cost cluster homes priced at RM42,000, meanwhile, must be applied through the Penang State Housing Department and under the affordable housing Type A category.

These homes are within an integrated community having a multi-purpose hall and surau.

Regarding the shop lots, the freehold units are priced starting from RM520,695 and have built-ups of 1,400 sq ft.

The project is a short drive away from the Jawi Toll Plaza (North-South Expressway), KTM train station, the Design Village Outlet Mall and the Southern Seberang Prai administration centre.
